New York City design studio Jumbo presents two new furniture designs in the form of the Snow Fence chair and the Foldont chair. The studio was founded by friends Justin Donnelly and Monling Lee and has since been producing objects and creating environments that focus on reductivism.
The projects are technical when it comes to their execution and playful in terms of design. The two new seating designs were shown as Local Objects in April earlier this year. The Snow Fence chair was designed during the pandemic, when materials including snow fences were often used to cordon off areas. It pushes the boundaries of the materials by reimagining the polypropylene into a loveseat. The Foldont chair is essentially a dramatic folding chair and was first shown at the Sight Unseen viewing in May.
