Top 100 Art & Design Trends in September

From Dynamic Sculptural Tables to Playful Medical Designs:

September 2025 art and design trends spotlight a creative shift toward interaction, emotion, and user-driven engagement. This month’s highlights blur the boundaries between form, function, and personal expression, transforming everyday objects into immersive experiences.

Designer Michael Jantzen unveiled the 'Interactive Transformation Table,' a furniture piece conceived as evolving sculpture. At first glance, it appears as a minimalist wooden box, but three hinged sections unfold into dynamic, flowing shapes. Inside, bright yellow shelves offer unexpected visual contrast and practical storage, rewarding curiosity through playful interactivity. By inviting users to reshape its form, the piece redefines furniture as functional art, merging architecture, sculpture, and personal creativity into one adaptive design.

Meanwhile, designers Gagyeong Min, Dami Seo, and Hyeonsu Yu introduced the 'ZooBree Nebulizer,' a pediatric medical device that gamifies treatment. Featuring three animal-inspired masks -- 'Mimi the cat,' 'Roar the lion,' and 'Pip the hamster' -- the nebulizer transforms therapy into a multisensory ritual, complete with interactive sounds and kiss-stencil 'whiskers' after each session. Portable and rechargeable, it offers comfort while making medical care playful and empowering.

September’s art and design trends highlight creativity in motion. From shape-shifting furniture to whimsical health innovations, designers are merging beauty, interactivity, and emotion to create objects that connect deeply with their users.
