Survivor Gabon will pit 18 contestants against each other in physical as well as social extremes. Survivor Gabon, which was filmed in North Africa, aired yesterday, and to build on the excitement, we thought we’d compile a few regional trends.

The slideshow highlights some African, safari and tribal innovations, although it’s unlikely the contestants will actually encountering any of these on Survivor: Gabon - Earth’s Last Eden.
