Jewellery Made of Tights - Precious Stone Stocking Accessories (GALLERY)

If you ever get tired of wearing your tights, you may want to donate them to Maria Lau, a British jewellery designer who collects old flesh coloured stockings and turns them into high-fashion accessories.

Lau has carefully braided and twisted nude tights with some semi-precious and other embellishments for her “A Skin Less Ordinary” Collection.  And indeed the collection is far from ordinary for Lau created necklaces and headbands that are simply stunning.

For her recent collection, Maria Lau sought inspiration from the tribal and African Massai jewellery. For the rest of her creations, the designer has been known to combine often ignored objects, such as vintage and reclaimed items, to create edgy accessories.
