Tired of neutral furniture? Then the carnival evoking cabinets of Argentinian designer Lucas Rise will put an explosion of colour in your living space. These are focal pieces extraordinaire. His inspiration comes from Africa, from “the carnival, circus and park imagery.”

When Lucas Rise was growing up, he painted street signs. Now he makes a living painting these colourful wooden cabinets with enamel. The artist’s website is called “Sans Parapluie” which is French for “without umbrella”. In a way the name describes his unbounded design philosophy where “the edges and borders of the cabinet disappear to become an open space where different cultures come together.”
