Rather than hosting temporary experiential events to draw in customers, Showcase stores makes product trial stations a permanent part of stores in order to give shoppers the chance to try before they buy.
Trend Hunter recently had the opportunity to speak with Showcase CEO Samir Kulkarni and gain an understanding of what makes this interactive retail model so successful. Kulkarni attributes the success of Showcase stores to three main factors: the use of big data to spot patterns of consumer needs, a flexible, fast supply chain and an interactive retail environment where consumers can try out products first-hand to see some of the most innovative products work before their eyes.
Whereas other retailers struggle to sell the same type of health, toys and beauty products as the ones that Showcase specializes in, consumers identify this unique retail environment as the place to go in order to experience cutting-edge products first-hand.
