Wachovia pulled out of a major college funding program, leaving many post-secondary students scrambling. Wachovia’s merger with Wells Fargo could end up resulting in decreased educational funding, specially, Wachovia is pulling out of being a trustee for the $9.3 billion Commonfund Short Term Fund which supports 1,000 colleges. This move could cause a drop in future American college and university education rates.
