Beautiful Decay has the right of it, the work of artist Yuto Yamasaki is so realistic, people will be tricked into watering them. Yet his house plants require no need for such sustenance because they are carved out of wood. Incredibly detailed, Yuto Yamasaki's sculptures look like the real deal. He has also painted them in accurate colors so that they better represent the succulents, palms and bonsais he has made by hand.
Born in Fukuoka, Japan, Yuto Yamasaki works with wood in particular because he has easy access to the material. He states, "The issue is not what I make; there is no meaning to be found in my pieces beyond a confirmation of the existence of the artist and his experience of making the work."
