The allure of the fairytale rarely seems to wear off on those individuals who love that genre and being reminded of childhood, and Natalie Eve Garrett has evoked that nostalgia in a completely new way with her yogurt fairytale paintings.
Using yogurt as her medium, Garrett has painted excerpts from different fairytales. Shockingly, the likeliness of the paintings to the actual characters is spot on. Immediately you are able to tell who is who, and make that connection to the story. Her excerpts include paintings inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, The Little Mermaid, The Juniper Tree and Snow White. The detail that she has been able to put in her work is truly incredibly, and the addition of color really makes each piece different. Natalie Eve Garrett shows that sometimes when you play with your food, you can create awe-inspiring artwork.
