It's tough to predict the future in a few weeks, let alone along a time frame of years, but National Geographic's new series entitled 'Year Million' is looking farther into the coming decades that even the most ambitious futurists. As its name suggests, the show explores what might develop for humanity in a million years.

Of course, such a drastically distant auger can hardly be accurate -- and even it if were, no one currently alive would be around to validate it. Nonetheless, Year Million is more interested in using one million years as a sort of thought experiment to not only imagine the types of technologies that might develop, but also to consider what it is that humanity values (and would thus endeavor to improve over time.)
