Anniversarial E-Bikes

The Yamaha YPJ-01 Celebrates 20 Years of Electric Motorcycles

If you didn’t know that Yamaha made electric bicycles, then feast your eyes on the Yamaha YPJ-01. The YPJ-01 made its debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show and was created to celebrate 20 years of pedal-electric Yamaha bicycles. That’s right, the company most famous for its off-road vehicles and motorcycles has been building electric bikes for two decades.

Little is known about the Yamaha YPJ-01 in terms of what its made of and its range, but we do know that it features a smartphone dock. The dock effectively turns your phone into an instrument panel, letting you check your distance traveled, current speed etc… The Yamaha YPJ-01 is a one-off concept, but here’s hoping the company begins to toot its own horn a little more when it comes to its e-bikes.
