The WSJ December/January 2015 Better Than Bare editorial proves that less really is more. Make up artist Asami Taguchi applied light cosmetics to model Anastasia Kolganov. With the help of Taguchi's expert techniques, Kolganov posed effortlessly before a pale backdrop with an evident appeal to subdued, classic looks.
A deep red lip and shimmering eyeshadow were the only obvious cosmetic additions made to this WSJ production. The magazine is thus opting to bring in the new year with a simplistic, stripped down bang, playing up on neutral color palettes in spite of the call to go over the top during holiday parties.
Kolganov is evidently living up to the call. Little was needed to play up on the striking features of the pale, freckle faced beauty. Instead, she made the case for a fresh, clean look.
