Woven Portraits is an eye-catching and thought-provoking series of images put together by photographer David Samuel Stern. The images take the faces of composers, designers and other creatives and transform them into abstract objects. The series drives home the alluring nature of artists and creatives, all of whom have unique creative processes and inspirations.

For Woven Portraits, Stern captured several photos of his subjects before physically cutting them apart and threading them together. The end result is a portrait fragmented into bits and pieces in a manner that is at once confusing and pleasing to the eye.

Ultimately, this photo series is an exploration of identity, with the distorted nature of the images adding a layer of mystery not found in conventional portraits.
