Bean Box Launched an Exclusive Bourbon Barrel-Aged Colombia Coffee

Specialty coffee marketplace Bean Box recently entered a collaboration with Seattle-based Middle Fork Roasters to release a whiskey-inspired coffee blend. Named the Bourbon Barrel-Aged Colombia Coffee, this limited-edition offering was available exclusively via Bean Box's website. This collaborative product was released to honor this year's St. Patrick's Day and although the whiskey-inspired coffee blend is currently sold out—testifying to consumer interest in alcohol-inspired caffeine beverages, Bean Box recommends another blend in its place, the Vietnam Opal Bold (#819).

The Bourbon Barrel-Aged Colombian was a super-limited roast, combining "nutty-caramel Colombian from Middlefork Roasters with the sugary, spicy notes from 2bar Spirit’s bourbon barrel." Bean Box then aged this mixture for two weeks. The resulting blend featured medium and toasty notes with tastes that amalgamated Caramel, Bourbon, and Almond Praline. There is no alcohol in the beans.
