AI-Generated Messenger Stickers

WhatsApp is Testing Generative AI Stickers on its Platform

Users currently partaking in the WhatsApp beta program will soon gain access to WhatsApp AI stickers. These stickers are dynamically generated in real-time based on inputted text prompts. For example, users will be able to press the sticker button as per usual, but if they do not find a sticker that suits their message, there is a new tab that, when pressed, states "generate your own stickers!"

On this tab, users can enter text prompts to receive unique, one-of-a-kind stickers generated at that moment. Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, does not specify the exact generative AI model it uses for its dynamic sticker generation. Rather, WABetaInfo reporters clarify that the stickers are generated using “a secure technology offered by Meta.”
