Created in Palo Alto, California, the 'nixie' lets users take a wearable drone with them wherever they go. It's just like a watch -- worn around the wrist. The drone weighs less that 45 grams and, with just a gesture, it can fly up to take full HD images or videos while connecting to smartphones. The nixie is created with motion-predicting sensors that leads the drone into four modes to take photos or videos: boomerang, panorama, follow me, and hover.
Drones have become more prevalent in amateur photography and video production as they become a more accessible technology. This new wearable camera may extend that further and allow everyday people to keep a flying camera on them whenever they want. The nixie would be especially beneficial for consumers while traveling or attending big events.
