VR Retail-Training Simulators

Walmart is Using a VR Simulator to Prep Employees for Black Friday

Trainees of 'Walmart Academy' training centers will now learn how to deal with real-world experiences through a VR retail-training simulator.

The retail giant has launched a program to help train employees by dealing with tough real-world situations through the use of a VR simulator. After a successful pilot program, all 200 of its training centers will use VR to help train its employees by the end of 2017. In the simulation, employees have to complete tasks like dealing with spills or preparing for Black Friday shoppers and answer multiple-choice questions about how the scenario could affect the store.

In an ideal situation, everyone at the Walmart Academy would be able to experience extensive education through a VR retail-training simulator. But due to the expensive cost and space required, employees will only experience the simulator for between five and twenty minutes.
