Retail Body Camera Pilots

Walmart is Protecting its Workers with a New Body Camera Pilot Program

Walmart is introducing body camera technology to enhance worker safety. Initially launched through a pilot program, this technology is specifically intended to safeguard employees who may deal with potentially unsafe or dangerous situations while on shift. Currently, the pilot program is in effect at select Walmart locations. With its launch, Walmart hopes to improve safety measures for employees while also contributing to loss prevention strategies.

“While we don’t talk about the specifics of our security measures, we are always looking at new and innovative technology used across the retail industry,” Walmart said in a statement to Retail Dive. “This is a pilot we are testing in one market, and we will evaluate the results before making any longer-term decisions.”
