Slimdesign, a company based over in the Netherlands, has launched a brand new body camera that is designed to be compact, lightweight and affordable, enabling people who aren't police officers or security personnel to go about harnessing greater security in difficult situations.
The 'PhoneCam' can be worn on your shirt or jacket, and is equipped with a range of technologies that include an HD wide-angle camera, microphone and WiFi and 5G connectivity. When users find themselves in a situation where they're threatened or need to record footage of an ongoing incident of concern, they can press the body camera's button, while a second press of the button leads to footage being conveyed to a cloud server for future use by police or court officials.
While there are many body cameras out there, what makes the 'PhoneCam' unique is the fact that it costs only $69, with the whole idea being that this form of security should be accessible to more people.
