Starbucks Korea recently launched a voice ordering service through Samsung's smart assistant Bixby, which is available on select Samsung Galaxy devices. This new feature is an extension of the mobile order-ahead and pay technology offered through Starbucks Siren Order.
The all-new voice recognition ordering service represents the first of its kind to make the most of Samsung Bixby—which was launched in South Korea in the spring of 2017—for ordering and payments. With this new way to order, customers may now speak to their mobile device as if talking to a barista and even have the chance to customize their order to their liking. To place an order in this way for the first time, those who are not already part of the My Starbucks Rewards program will be invited to join.
