The Vision Zero Vehicle Warns Drivers When They're Losing Their Focus

German auto parts manufacturer ZF Friedrichshafen is well known for its high-quality gear box units and safety systems, and the company has now put together a new car, called the Vision Zero Vehicle, that is designed to show off the company's plethora of high-tech safety features into a high-performance road package.

The Vision Zero Vehicle comes fully equipped with assistive technologies for driver distraction as well as lane straying. The use of laser cameras to monitor the driver's head position means the system is more than capable of ascertaining when the driver is looking away from the road, at which point it can deliver an audio or dashboard text message alerting them to keep their eyes on the road.

By using smart technologies to enable a proactive rather than reactive approach, the Vision Zero Vehicle aims to stop accidents before they occur.
