With Amazon's delivery drone system revolutionizing last-mile delivery services, Mercedes-Benz's van division and Matternet, a delivery drone company, have teamed up to make drone deliveries even more efficient with the Vision Van.

Matternet's top model delivery drone, the Matternet M2, can carry packages as heavy as 4.4 pounds over 12 miles on a single battery charge. While that's certainly impressive, that range is nonetheless limited if the drones always need to return to a central delivery post.

Mercedes-Benz Vans' Vision Van is a port for delivery drones, complete with a charging station and a rooftop launching pad. Its mobility means that drones will be able to cover even greater distances, since the Vision Van will be able to extend and modify the drones' landing points based on their remaining amount of charge.
