Customization in retail has been receiving increasing interest and growing developments, however, this mirror takes interactive customized shopping one magical step further by introducing virtual clothing. The 'Mirror Mirror' project uses depth perception sensors and a projector to allow consumers to see what various articles of clothing look like on, without physically taking anything off.
Opening up the retail experience to one that is much less frustrating, time-consuming and stressful, these magical mirrors improve the shopping experience. Not only that, but the mirror's technology also allows users to customize clothing by virtually drawing designs onto a t-shirt with an infrared laser wand onto their reflection.
While it all sounds quite fantastical, brands like adidas are already moving to incorporate this virtual clothing technology into stores by 2017.
