As a particularly sensitive vegetable, attempts to remedy these issues in-store include the use of plastic sheets to protect these vegetables. However, if these protective sheets are not monitored, Belgian endives quickly become green.
In order to address these problems, Eosta teamed up with Smart Packaging Solutions to create a box from recycled materials with a resealable lid. Automatically, the lid is designed to close, which helps to extend the shelf life of the fresh produce and increase its chances of being sold.
