Protective Vegetable Packaging

This vegetable packaging system provides a simple solution for the problems that come with exposing an endive to light and heat. When an endive is turned green, it is far less likely to be sold. As a particularly sensitive vegetable, attempts to remedy these issues in-store include the use of plastic sheets to protect these vegetables. However, if these protective sheets are not monitored, Belgian endives quickly become green.

In order to address these problems, Eosta teamed up with Smart Packaging Solutions to create a box from recycled materials with a resealable lid. Automatically, the lid is designed to close, which helps to extend the shelf life of the fresh produce and increase its chances of being sold.

Now that interest in organic produce is increasing, ensuring freshness with sustainable packaging is becoming extremely important to consumers.
