These black and white images by artist Vassilis Tangoulis prove that little embellishments are needed to depict highly emotional scenes. The Grecian artist captures solitary moments with little if any human activity present, resulting in serene and at times lonely scenes.
Monochrome snapshots of boats, docks, trucks and railway crossings are only some of the sightings present in Tangoulis' portfolio. Despite the evident simplicity that characterizes his work, his pictures are nonetheless expressive.
Less is certainly more here as abandoned sites come to life. Tangoulis thus proves that there is much to be seen in deserted areas, if not for their more evocative elements, than for a look at how the structures interact with their natural environments.
