The Council of Foreign Relations Global Health Program has spent the last several years following news reports about vaccine preventable outbreaks all over of the world.
The result is this comprehensive and interactive world map which lets individuals monitor the number of outbreaks on a particular continent or country, the types of outbreaks that have occurred(which span from measles to rubella and whooping cough) as well as the links to the original new articles which served as the research data.
This interactive map of vaccine preventable outbreaks serves to highlight growing the trend of anti-vaccine sentiments, especially in developed countries. Some medical professionals and celebrities have begun denouncing vaccines as a potential factor in autism, among other things, and encouraged members of the public to not get their children vaccinated. This map is meant to show how these beliefs affect the public at large.
