Plucked Chickens Made of Wool

Felted Sculptures by Stephany Metz

Stephanie Metz, the artist of these unique wool sculptures, displays a rather odd combination of cute and (in my opinion) disturbing works in her portfolio.

Regardless of one's opinions of her work though, it cannot be argued that pictured images will provoke a compelling reaction.

The one common thread among these productions is that they were created using the same process. Metz describes her "felting" process as modifying wool into felt, and then creating the sculptures with a hand-held felting needle. On her website, she details this process, as well as her reasons for the physical appeal of her chosen art medium.

Her website also provides greater insight and information regarding her background, exhibits, and pricing.
