Zapgo launched an ultra-rapid EV charging site at Callerton Rise Retail Park, installing a 200kW charger that serves two bays and enables drivers to add significant range in around 20 minutes. Located alongside retail destinations including Co-op, Greggs and Harrison Family Vets, the site is designed to provide convenient charging for shoppers, local residents and motorists travelling through the area.
The charging hub sits close to the A1, around eight minutes from Newcastle Airport and within a fast-growing residential district that already includes more than 1,500 occupied homes, with thousands more planned. By integrating EV infrastructure into everyday destinations, Zapgo aims to make charging more accessible and practical for routine journeys.
For consumers, the site reduces charging friction while supporting rising EV adoption across the North East, reflecting broader trends toward retail-based destination charging and community-focused infrastructure expansion.
