Consumers in Seattle Can Now Plan Uber Rides in Advance

Uber is currently testing a new feature in Seattle that it hopes to expand to other popular business destinations in order to allow its consumers to plan Uber rides up to a month in advance.

The update would work by including a 'Schedule a Ride' button on the app, which would prompt users to enter in their pickup location and destination, as well as a specific time. The scheduled Uber rides would be targeted towards travelling professionals primarily, as it would take some of the stress away in setting up important meetings. With this, consumers can plan trips to the airport and other locations ahead and rest easy in knowing that a driver will be in contact with them in a timely manner on the chosen date. As Uber has previously released updates that allow businesses to pay for rides for its employees, the company is showing to increasingly be working towards targeting a business-oriented demographic.
