Decorative Lead Structures

Twisted Pencil by Giha Woo is the Perfect Addition for Stationeries

The Twisted Pencil by Giha Woo gives a new spin to wooden writing tools. Playing with irony, the Korean designer defines his geometrical, 3-D pieces as “pencil vases.”

The boxy structures are made of bent colored pencils shaped to acquire a more efficient, decorative form. Although at first sight it’s hard to figure out their use, once the utility is deciphered the structure becomes even more original and interesting. These savvy vases hold pencils, pens or similar objects. Woo explains, “In comparison with general products, it isn’t a pencil vase that can contain a lot more pencils, but it includes new aesthetics and morphological consideration about things.” These playful designs that question both the use and shape of everyday objects help to redefine their purpose in society.

The Twisted Pencil by Giha Woo will certainly be the highlight of an office or student desk.
