Pareto Pot pen holder is a stationery organiser designed around the Pareto Principle, which suggests that roughly 80 percent of output is generated by 20 percent of inputs. The object was conceived by designer Liam de la Bedoyere to give desk tools that are used most frequently a dedicated front position while keeping less-used instruments accessible in a secondary compartment.
The holder is constructed from bent and welded sheet metal that forms a nested, teardrop-like footprint with a larger front section and a smaller rear section, creating two distinct storage zones. Most-used pens and markers are intended to be placed in the larger compartment, while additional pens, highlighters, and other stationery items occupy the smaller rear compartment. The base includes a cork underside to protect surfaces and provide grip to prevent tipping during use. Pareto Pot’s form reflects hierarchy through thoughtful compartment sizing.
