Of course, the Trip Cartoon Coffee Table is undisputedly a three-dimensional object; however, there's something very whimsical about Seletti's treatment of it that makes it appear 2D. The piece of furniture comprises a circular tabletop and a tripod stand, yet its sides have been accented in a way that nearly makes every element look flat.
Strokes of black paint were applied to the edges of the various components, outlining the simplest geometries of the side table. Otherwise, the wood and MDF material have been completely whitewashed for a papery sort of appearance. With sufficient lighting in the room, the Trip Cartoon Coffee Table will hold few surface shadows, making all faces reflect a similar shade. Perfect for playrooms and playful decorative schemes, this furnishing brings "fun" to "functional."
