Travel Simulation Booths

Marriott Hotel Shares a 4D Virtual Reality Travel Experience with Guests

In an effort to imagine what the future of tourism and hospitality might be like, Marriott Hotels set up a 4D travel virtual reality booth with Oculus Rift technology. Once inside the booths, people are immersed on a journey from one point of the world to another, which lets them hear, feel and smell the changes in the virtual environment before them.

The 100-second experience gives off changes in moisture and temperature, making the difference between standing on a beach or a bustling city street. As well as various vacation destinations, the Oculus Rift experience also gives a tour of the Marriott facilities, giving people a peek inside. As part of the hotel's Travel Brilliantly campaign, the 'Teleporter' will be touring various Marriott locations where visitors are able to try it out for free.
