Supported by Business in the Community's (BITC) arc initiative, Transitions London is an employment agency that focuses on immigrant and refugee professionals. "Currently, many refugees, regardless of their skills, are not able to play a full part in the UK labour market," arc writes on its website. "They are often confused and ill-informed about how to effectively find a job, particularly how to gain UK experience in their field of work."
In an attempt to bridge that gap, Transitions offers services including workshops, advocacy, internships and recruitment. It's great to see a social enterprise like this that complicates and addresses issues of diversity, unemployment and alienation -- all in a great service adding (social) value to the professional world.
