Bjarke Ingels Group Boasts a Connected & Affordable Design
Kalina Ned — November 9, 2018 — Eco
These prefabricated timber apartments occupy a plot, overlooking a park, in Stockholm. Dubbed '79 & Park,' the design proves to be aesthetically pleasing, open, and flexible. Thanks to the construction and production practices, Bjarke Ingels Group was able to ensure an affordable development.
There is a total of 196 timber apartment units and each one has access to a shared roof terrace that is covered in green. This marks yet another attempt from the architecture industry to infuse the urban city with some sense of nature. Each volume of living abodes has a different height and at its peak, the complex reaches 35 meters. Bjarke Ingels Group designed the space "as an inhabitable landscape of cascading residencies."
