Tripod Lounge Chairs

Alter ST.'s Spider Chair Keeps Uneven Floors Steady

alter ST. created the Spider chair so people can sit on warped boards or slightly dipped tile without the usual wobble, using a three-leg base instead of the standard four. The Russian workshop turns that simple geometry into a lounge piece that stays planted because three contact points keep meeting the floor in a single plane.

Spider leaves its metal joints and fasteners visible, making the structure itself part of the look instead of something tucked away. Its leather seat and back pads can also be reupholstered separately, which gives owners a way to refresh wear over time without replacing the whole frame.

This means a sculptural accent piece that answers a very ordinary home irritation while asking for less long-term compromise. It points toward furniture that treats repairability and stability as part of the experience, not extras reserved for purely utilitarian seating.
