Steel Frame Chairs

The Settecento Chair by Leonardo Liendo Refines Stability Through Structure

The Settecento Chair is a steel seating design by Leonardo Liendo that reinterprets classic chair typologies through a reduced, continuous frame. The structure is formed from two bent steel tubes that define both the legs and backrest, creating a single flowing outline. Settecento Chair pairs this frame with a CNC laser-cut perforated seat, lowering weight while allowing airflow and drainage for indoor and outdoor use. The design references Gio Ponti’s Superleggera but shifts material from wood to steel, altering both durability and visual expression.

The chair is stackable and produced in multiple powder-coated finishes, including Caffè, Terracotta, Pistacchio, and a clear lacquer that exposes the raw metal. A double-bar backrest distributes weight more evenly while improving grip when moving the chair. Each unit is bent, welded, and assembled in Argentina, balancing industrial fabrication with hands-on production.
