More often than not, designers revisit everyday objects in order to make them easier to use, the series aptly titled The Uncomfortable by KK Studios, a design firm based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and founded by Katerina Kamprani, does the complete opposite. Going against intuition for interesting results, the items featured throughout are still usable, just awkwardly so.
From an inversely curved chair seat to a super stacked fork and an inflatable door handle, The Uncomfortable by KK Studios is very entertaining to witness. According to the designer's website, "The goal is to re-design useful objects making them uncomfortable but usable and maintain the semiotics of the original item." Mission accomplished. Thankfully, they are more works of art than the real deal.
