Reimagined Curiously Functional Products

The New DIDIM Design Series Honors Everyday Objects

A team of designers comprised of Dami Seo, Dohui Kim, and Dong Kyun Kim joined forces to create a new DIDIM series of unique items. The capsule features three products -- all of which are inspired by practical purposes and historical tools that connect humanity.

Starting with the DIDIM_Stand Light draws inspiration from fire-lit lamps but is altered to have a modern language. The light is a tall floor lamp and the illumination dangled from a metal bar -- it is battery-powered and has a waved cantilever. The DIDIM_Alarm Clock blends two concepts of what looks like a well and a bell rises instead of a water basket. However, it is not a real bell, it is a speaker and to silence it, users have to hit the 'bell.' It is rounded out by the DIDIM_Tray inspired by old grinding stones that 'grinds' open to see fan-shaped trays for storage.
