Local architecture firm Patterson Associates works with interior designer Sonja Hawkins on the Gatehouse's design. The team also used appliances from Fisher & Paykel to elevate its design efficiency as a whole. The building is in Millbrook, New Zealand and it is comprised of two barn-style structures -- one of which is build from stone and the other is made from timber. Both of these are topped with gabled rooflines.
Simone Stevens, head of global D&A partnerships at Fisher & Paykel states, "It's a curiosity for the way people interact with appliances that we apply to the design of our products, redefining what a kitchen should be. From midweek convenience to weekend gourmet, and how you shop, cook and entertain, patterns of use provide an ergonomic overlay that helps you think and use helps personalise the flow of space in the kitchen."
