Comical Caption Vandalisms

The Bubble Project by Ji Lee is a Clever and Hilarious Way to Engage

Ji Lee has a stark, in-your-face type of humor as exemplified in her bubble caption sticker scheme, the Bubble Project.

Lee printed 50,000 bubble stickers and plastered them on top of ads throughout the New York City streets. These bubble captions were left blank for a purpose, and there's no doubt people will be tempted to fill it in. The empty captions encourage passersby to fill in the blanks, leaving the words and ideas up to them. Lee's attempt at changing the city's facade was a success as the project transformed the dull concrete jungle into a laughable space that includes public dialogue.

Since its inception, the Bubble Project has boomed into a worldwide project where many cities have people claiming back their public space.
