Tetris is a classic tile-matching puzzle game that has won over many generations of fans and has even inspired the creation of a Tetris movie. This film adaptation is set to be produced as a three-part "epic sci-fi thriller" as part of an $80 million project from both Chinese and American producers.
China's Bruno Wu and Larry Kasanoff from the USA have teamed up to create Threshold Global Studios, which will be working alongside the The Tetris Company for the making of the movie in China. With the Tetris movie being co-produced by both China and the USA, it's described that Threshold Global Studios will make cross-cultural movies for the global market.
Alongside the film, merchandise and a theme park inspired by the classic game are also set to be created. This movie follows in the footsteps of other game-to-movie adaptations that have recently been disrupting the box office.
