The Spain-based design firm Calcco created a fun and lighthearted label for the premium wine company Tentenublo. Tentenublo is a term used in Spain for centuries to describe the peal of bells that were supposed to ward off hail storms. To add a little endearing comedic fun to the brand, Calcco created an illustrated literal interpretation of the meaning of the wine's name.
The label features a cartoon bell chasing a worried-looking cloud away. Road Runner-eque swirls and dashes are added to give the characters a sense of movement and urgency. The composition is capped off with a single music note hovering over the chase scene. The wine's name is announced in simple, clean typography, so as not to distract from the cartoon drama above.
Fun-loving, humorous and simple, the Tentenublo wine label is reminiscent of Saturday morning cartoons.
