In order to protect this home from "harsh urban environments" and the weather, the designers created a teak screen exterior.
While teak screens are normally only seen in room dividers and sometimes backyard architecture, in this case the unique design is front and center on this home. The unique concept in the Singapore-based home was made this way in order to protect the home but maintain adequate lighting and ventilation. The result is an extremely unique home design both from the outside and the inside -- with views of the teak screen visible from either end. The rest of the house is large and has very high ceilings that almost give the appearance of being outdoors.
