There have been many entertaining marketing strategies surfacing recently, but Krispy Kreme tops it off with a simple low-tech and potentially highly hilarious tactic: talk like a pirate.

In honor of the 10th annual Talk Like a Pirate Day, the American doughnut chain has announced that a free glazed doughnut will be given to any customer who talks like a pirate or wears an eye patch on the special day. In fact, those who are willing to deck out in full-fledged pirate costumes can receive a full dozen of fluffy deliciousness.

Not only is this a clever technique, it's also a great way for people to relax and act a little silly together. Plus, it comes with a delicious incentive, so who cares if someone's staring?
