Trailblazing Solar Aircrafts

The 'Sunseeker Duo' is the World's First Two-Seater Solar Aircraft

The Sunseeker Duo is the world's first two-seater solar aircraft, and was developed by solar-powered aircraft manufacturer Solar Flight. While the aircraft hasn't been completely developed yet, Solar Flight says flight tests have shown plenty of promise. The aircraft's battery system, motor performance, propeller, folding hub mechanisms and landing gear retraction systems have all been put to rigorous testing.

The Sunseeker Duo has a wingspan of 22 meters and weighs 280 kg. Its wings and tail surfaces are lined with 1,510 solar cells that capture energy from the sun and store it in a lithium-polymer battery pack located in the fuselage. The aircraft's motor has a maximum output of 25 kW.

The ultimate goal of the project is produce an aircraft that offers great performance, but that is also practical.
