With the DIY Subsonex Jet, you can live out your dreams as a Top Gun. This very unusual aircraft was designed by micro aviation company Sonex aircraft. It has a little tiny PBS-TJ100 jet engine mounted to the exterior which makes me nervous just looking at it.
Designers expect the jet to cruise at 240 mph and have a climb rate of 2,000 feet per minute. Not bad for an aircraft small enough to fit in your garage. You can pick-up a do it yourself Subsonex Jet for around $60,000 US.
