The StrongVolt is an incredible solar charging device that eliminates a lot of the issues with other solar chargers on the market. One of the most common problems is that if a solar charger is taken out of direct sunlight, it stops working entirely. If a cloud rolls by, users must manually remove and reconnect the charger. Ian Sells developed the StrongVolt to solve this issue with a patent-pending SunTrack technology, which powers off in the shade and auto-reconnects in the sun. Another extremely user-friendly feature of the StrongVolt is its colored LED lights, which provide indicators to communicate whether or not there’s enough sunlight around.
The second major issue that the StrongVolt solves is compatibility with Apple devices. One of the reasons iPods, iPhones and iPads are unable to work with most solar charging devices is because they need a power source that’s consistent and stable, which the StrongVolt provides. Beyond just Apple products, the StrongVolt is also ideal for any other devices that use a USB to charge.
The StrongVolt was funded in just 24 hours on Kickstarter and has now far surpassed its initial $10,000 goal with over $55,000, but it is still collecting funds until February 11.
