This stripped office can be observed in Qinhuangdao, China. It is owned by tourism company Aranya, which tapped Shanghai-based architecture firm Wutopia Lab to create a new aesthetic for its exterior. The studio erected the new structure with glass walls and wrapped them with an external patterned facade.
The rectangular building serves a dual purpose. It is a visitor information center, as well as a concierge office for the client. Wutopia Lab looked for inspiration in nautical themes. The stripped office is absolutely visually engaging and definitely a point of interest in the neighborhood. A key feature of the design is a porthole-style window whose interaction with the stripe pattern produces a visual illusion.
