Rope Matrix Installations

String Prototype by Numen/For Use is a Futuristic Interactive Experience

The String Prototype interactive installation will make people feel as though they have just stepped into a computerized matrix. Yet unlike anything envisioned by the blockbuster movies 'The Matrix' and 'TRON: Legacy,' this space is much more tactile. The String Prototype installation takes place in an inflated white cube. Inside is a grid system made up of blue ropes that can be climbed and walked across.

Created by Numen/For Use, a design studio based in Wien, Austria, the String Prototype installation is located in Vienna. Removed from reality, the experience is pretty trippy. Still in development, its exploration of the 'impossibility of perception of scale and direction results in simultaneous feeling of immenseness and absence of space," as written on the studio's website. It is completely based on the function of inflation.
